Aurea Barberry

Aurea Barberry is a slow growing shrub to 2 feet with bright golden yellow foliage.  Plant in full sun to light shade.  Shrub is deer resistant and is the perfect contrast to red barberry.  Hardy to 20 degrees below zero.

Do you like hot peppers and south of the border flavors? Join Master Gardener Kristin Rankin as she teaches you how to grow your own salsa ingredients.

Children and Gardening Saturday, May 21: 9 a.m. – noon

In this class, taught by Master Gardener Barbara Schuchart, we hope to help develop a love, enthusiasm, and perhaps even a lifetime hobby of gardening for children. Topics such as garden safety, garden tools, and creating a garden journal will be discussed. Many fun projects for children such as "The Ivy Tower" and "The Pizza Patch" will be introduced. This class is geared for children, parents and grandparents--anyone who loves gardening.

Red Twig Dogwood

Red Twig Dogwood is an interesting shrub with brilliantly varigated leaves.  New growth emerges each spring with outstanding coral branches that last well into winter creating awesome contrast to the white snow.  Yellowish white flowers are followed by blue berries.  This shrub will grow to 9 feet tall and 5 feet wide, but can be trimed back to control its size.  Plant in full sun to part shade.  Very hardy to 50 degrees below zero. 

Arnold Red Honeysuckle

Arnold Red Honeysuckle is a graceful shrub that bears fragrant, deep red blooms and bright berries.  The plant can be trained into a tree as pictured or let to be a shrub is deciduous, fast growing to 8 - 10 feet tall.  Full sun to part shade.
